Cancellation of Copenhagen Open 2010

It is with great sadness, that the newly elected board of directors has been forced to cancel Copenhagen Open 2010 due to the current financial situation of the Danish Karate Federation.

The economical foundation for Copenhagen Open 2010 has, unfortunately and surprisingly, disappeared due to our withdrawel of the bid for WC 2016. Copenhagen Open 2010 would thus be based solely on the federations own economy, and a possible deficit of Copenhagen Open 2010 would therefore pose a serious threat to the survival of the federation. No one is sorrier for the circumstances than the board of directors, but our main objective must and will be to ensure the ongoing existence of the federation.

We wish to extend a deeply felt apology to all the cmpetitors, coaches and spectators who have been looking forward to the attend the tournament and trust that everybody will understand our motives and reason for making such a radical and unpleasant decision.
